Wellbeing Dogs visit |
||
|
This week our PCSOs Claire & Katie arranged for our force Wellbeing dogs to visit St John's Day Centre Cwmbwrla. Bella and her handler PC Nathan Davies were welcomed and enjoyed their visit.
Peter, who visits the day centre twice a week adored the visit from Bella and has asked for Bella to revisit.
Our new scheme launched in October 2025 🦴. In the first eight weeks the team have already seen over 30 deployments forcewide, benefitting officers and staff alike.
The scheme which was previously delivered by one colleague has recently undergone a re-launch and is now delivered by multiple Team SWP colleagues who willingly volunteer their time alongside their paw-some pets.🐶
Force Lead for Wellbeing Dogs, Chief Inspector Scott Threadgold said: "It is really heartening to see the scheme be well received so soon after launch. We know on many occasions the visit of a dog to a place can really brighten people's days, and I couldn't be prouder of our dedicated team of wellbeing dog volunteers and their four-legged friends of course who spread 'pawsitivity' wherever they go!". 🦴 ![]() | ||
